5/30/09. Tonight was my maiden voyage out to Mountain View Gardens and Ballroom. Tonight was Leigh Ann and Roberts Wedding and Reception. This very a short and sweet ceremony and reception, but these kids packed a lot of fun in the 2 hour reception. Congrat Leigh Ann and Robert. Have fun in Barbados.

Merilogan & Maggie's Birthday Bash

5/28/09. I made my way out to Truss Vegas tonight for a couple of girls 12th birthday party. They had a big house with a big pool and I was located in the garage. I felt more of a novelty than the DJ but oh well. These kids did have a good time though.

Smith / Lane Reception

5/23/09. Tonight was another wonderful wedding reception at the Carraway-Davie House. Ashley and Graham tied the knot and headed over towards Liberty Park for a very elegant and classy party hosted by yours truely. These kids have a lot of friends and family who like to have a good time. Also I had a little help this evening from Shawn Sharp, one of our new DJ's here at Feel The Beat. Shawn's going to be a great addition to the staff here at Feel The Beat. He's got experience and he knows how to have a good time. I also got to work with Charles and Amber Ford twice this weekend. Lucky me. I would also like to thank them for these amazing pictures. Congrats Graham and Ashley. You guys are too cute.

Bishop / Dutton Reception

5/22/09. After my early morning bubble party I made my way back east to Leeds, AL for Ashley Bishop and Miles Dutton's wedding reception. We were worried all night that it was going to rain. It looked like rain, it was forecasted to rain and it sprinkled for a second so we planned for rain. Of coarse when this happens you know it's not going to rain and it didn't, but I did get my first opportunity to use the new chapel at the Sonnet House. It looked amazing in there(especially with the Feel The Beat Lighting Design). I only wish I could have done my show outside. Oh Well... What can you do?? Congrats Ashley and Miles.

Bubble Mania!!! Capital School

5/22/09. This morning I had to wake up early and make it to Tuscaloosa for a 9:00 a.m. start for Capital Preschool's end of year bubble party. I did this event last year for a bunch of high energy 3 to 5 year old kids and this year was about the same. These parties can be fun because kids have more of a no-fear policy than adults do. They'll dance, sing and run around like crazy. that is really what makes these kind of events very special. Go The Wiggles!!! See you kids next year.

Liberty Park Middle School's 6th Grade Pool Party

5/21/09. This afternoon I headed over to Old Overton Country Club for Liberty Park's annual end-of-year 6th grade pool party. The rain seemed to make everyone hesitate a little, but with no thunder or lightning the party was on. Rock On Kids!!!

Stephen & Brooks Birthday Bash

5/20/09. In direct competition with the SEC baseball tournament traffic I took my self over near Regions Park to the scout club at Trace Crossings. Tonight was Stephen and Brooks birthday party and I was there to entertain. I booked this gig with LaTanya (one of my Papa Saia's Karaoke regulars) over a month ago and tonight was the big night. It was a combination of a birthday party and an end of the school year party so we had a lot of wild & crazy kids there. They got down all night and probably could have gone another hour or two. Happy Birthday guys! Thanks for letting me be there and good luck this weekend in the baseball tournament.

Koroknay / Antone Reception

5/16/09. Tonight I headed over to the American Village for good ole fashioned barn wedding. I'm kidding. The barn at the American Village is one of our favorite places to be on a Saturday evening. Kristi and Jason took the plunge this afternoon and left it up to me to entertain their friends and family. At first it seemed as if I couldn't get these people moving but all it took was good hour with the free beer and the dance floor opened right up. This was a very fun event and I thought the room looked awesome (with a little help from the Feel The Beat lighting design of coarse). Thanks to Pete and everyone at the American Village and also the wonderful catering staff from the Wynfrey.

AIDS of Alabama Girls Night Out Karaoke

5/15/09. Tonight I ran karaoke and did up-lighting for the AIDS of Alabama Girls Night Out annual event. This event is design to educate young girls about AIDS and HIV and give them something fun to do as well. The event went wonderfully and I got to work with guest EMCEE Isis from Kiss 97.5. Over all it was a pretty cool evening.

Greystone Graduation Celebration

5/9/09. Tonight I scooted down to Greystone for a graduation celebration. This party was very laid back and just when everything was get started... it rained. Sadness. Oh well. Congratulations kids. Keep up the good work.

Fairfield High School Prom

5/08/09. Another prom season is in the books. Tonight was the season finale with E-Rock and I at the fabulous Wynfrey Hotel for Fairfield Prepatory High School's Prom. It seemed to take a while for everyone to show up and even longer to get everyone dancing but once they did, They didn't stop. This was definitely the "crunkest" (if that is a word) prom we have done all season long. I turned the reigns over to E-Rock for the music and I handled the video production. We even had a special guest DJ and Fairfield Alum, Chris Coleman from Kiss 98.7 FM to announce the senior lead-out. All in all it was a great show and we had a great time wrapping up the 2009 prom season.

Karaoke @ Papa Saia's

5/6/09. Tonight was another installment of Karaoke at Papa Saia's in Alabaster. Although I only blog about this once a month I am here every Wednesday night. This gig has really grown since we started it in February. It seems that every week someone new shows up who can really lay down the vocals. I'm very pleased with it and I'm glad I get to continue to work with the wonderful staff at Papa Saia's. Let me tell you, Great people and even better drink specials make this place the spot to be on Wednesday nights. Come join us, will ya.

Bridal Show at the Summit Club

5/3/09. Today was the first bridal show at the Summit Club in Birmingham, AL. Everyone was there. Well, all the vendors I mean. With severe rain and tornado warnings all day the show only had about 36 brides sign up. What do ya do?? Anyway I got these photos from the new Feel The Beat, Cool Shots Photobooth, now available for all your instant party photo needs. Just click on the picture below for all the details.

Billingsley High School Prom

5/2/09. Tonight I headed south to Montgomery for Billingsley High School's Prom. This is the second year I have done Billingsley's Prom so I had an idea of what to expect(or so I thought). Like last year, this year's prom was held at Maxwell Air Force Base so security was tough. So tough that I almost didn't make it on the base. After about 10 minutes at the gate pleading with officers that I was suppose to be there, they let me in. The officer who let me in said "There will be a lot of upset kids if he doesn't get in here." What a true statement. This year I went all out on the sound and lighting design. We made that place look better than it ever has. Plus, the kids had a great time and so did the the teachers and mostly, Me of coarse. I had a little camera trouble so I will be hunting for photos, so until then just imagine the most kick-butt lighting and high energy dancing you can. Cheers!

Hayden Elementary School Dance

5/1/09. This morning I got up and headed North to Hayden, Alabama for Hayden Elementary Schools end of year dance. This was only a 2 hour event but by the time this event was over, both the kids and I were covered in sweat. "Everybody Dance NOW!!" It takes a lot of energy to entertain 3rd and 4th graders for 5 minutes let alone 2 hours. These were awesome and their song knowledge baffled me. I didn't even know this much about music when I was their age. Rock on kids, See you next year!

GSM - UAB Southeastern Conference

4/30/09. Tonight E-rock and I headed over to the fabulous Wynfrey hotel to run the entertainment for one of UAB's corporate events. This year was Alabama's turn to host the Southeastern Conference so who did they call when they had to entertain over 200 of their VIP's and corporate representatives?? Feel The Beat, that's who. We tailor made four games of "Jeopardy" relating to the south east and gave away a multitude of prizes and money playing "Let's Make A Deal". Everybody had a blast and we got some very nice compliments. Needless to say we will be back next time UAB has a function where they need important people entertained. Thanks to Pat Jenkins and they wonderful staff at the Wynfrey for making us feel at home again and again.

Carmon / Winegar Reception

4/25/09. Tonight was Courtney and Paul Winegar's Wedding Reception at the Sonnet House in Leeds, AL. This was one amazing party. I always love playing the Sonnet House because I get to use a big beautiful white house as a backdrop for an elegant light show. This always creates a lot of high energy moments all grouped together with a touch of class. Tonight was no exception. I'm not sure if Courtney or her father Charles were the life of the party. The danced and kept everyone going literally all night long. The dance floor stayed packed as made my way through the years and genres I knew would keep everyone moving. Awesome show, awesome guests and another awesome night at the Sonnet House. Congratulations Paul and Courtney. Pictures coming soon.
